The event mainly consists of a sequence of about ten short, 10-minute presentations. Members, but also non-members are invited to present. Any topic passes, as long as it is somehow related to Human-Computer Interaction. Here are some ideas:
- a method or technique that you find highly practical
- a challenge that you have difficulty in meeting
- amusing or depressing observations about your life with computers
- a research project you are working on
- a piece of work you a particularly proud of
- changes you perceive in your practice
- the summary of a presentation you will give or have given elsewhere
- a great book you've just read
- why you particularly like a product, or dislike it
- ...
If you feel even the slightest inclination to present, please send mail to sigchistart@listserv.cc.kuleuven.be and supply a descriptive title. No abstract is required. We'd like to announce the line-up on Thursday 10 September, so there's your deadline.
After the break, we'll hold the annual election of the SIGCHI.be board, where all members are invited to vote. We invite candidates for the positions of president, treasurer and secretary. All current members of SIGCHI.be are eligible. If you'd like to be a candidate, please mail to sigchistart@listserv.cc.kuleuven.be before Thursday 10 September.
